The course is focused on clarifying what the role and value of the Drawing may and should be in the “Education and Training Sciences”, having as interlocutors, people without specific knowledge of the theme and therefore – by the prevailing conditions of the italian school system – that also ignores the basic elements of the discipline. The Drawing – even if it has its role in the visual communication forms – exposes its primary function in the cognitive aspect: the activity of Drawing, before the aim to document and communicate the morphological structure of something which has been observed (or imagined), it is precious and irreplaceable to those who practice it, in order to truly understand this structure, to seize, penetrate and analyze it. Corollary of this underlying idea is another conviction, almost a guiding thread that accompanies the topics addressed: a conviction of inadequacy, of irreparable incompleteness, of any approach to the drawing that only pursues the “intuitive” or “scientific” way; the “Visual design” or the “descriptive geometry”;
or, according to the questionable and rooted distinction, the “artistic drawing” or the “technical drawing”. Consequently, it is essential to present – as far as possible in parallel – both paths.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Educational goals and expected learning outcomes:<\/strong><\/strong><\/th><\/tr><\/thead>
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
The course offers an approach to the themes of drawing in order to discard some of the “cultural myths” that have put down the formative role in a long period; the latest one that consists of its substitution by computer applications. This would not be realize, however, without exposing the fundamental principles of the different ways of proceeding, with the reference, where it’s necessary, to the indispensable geometric knowledge
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
The course will offer useful tools for understanding the Discipline and its potential in the training field
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
The students, at the end of the course, will be able to apply the knowledge acquired in relation to the Discipline
MAKING JUDGEMENTS:
The course will promote the student’s independent judgment
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
At the end of the course the students will be able to operate with disciplinary tools
LEARNING SKILLS:
Students of the Drawing course will have to develop the ability to integrate knowledge from the discipline with that deriving from other training sectors<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Methods and criteria for verifying the learning:<\/strong><\/strong><\/th><\/tr><\/thead>
The exam assesses the student\u2019s overall preparation, the ability to combine knowledge about each part of the syllabus, the coherence of argumentation, the analytical ability, and the autonomy of judgment. In addition, the student\u2019s command of language and clarity of presentation are also assessed, in adherence with the Dublin descriptors (1. knowledge and understanding; 2. applying knowledge and experience; 3. making judgments; 4. learning skills; 5: communication skills).
The final grade will be based 70% on the student\u2019s depth of knowledge and 30% on the student\u2019s ability for expression (written and oral) and independent critical thinking.
The exam will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
\u2013 Failed: significant deficiencies and inaccuracies in the knowledge and the understanding of the subject matter; poor analytical and synthesizing skills, recurrent generalizations, limited critical and judgmental skills; the arguments are exposed inconsistently and with inappropriate language.
\u2013 18-20: Knowledge and understanding of topics barely adequate, with occasional generalizations and imperfections possible; sufficient capacity for analysis synthesis and autonomy of judgment, the arguments are frequently exposed in an incoherent manner and with inappropriate\/non technical language.
\u2013 21-23: Fair knowledge and understanding of the subject; proper analysis and synthesis skills with coherent, logical argumentation, but with language that is often inappropriate\/non technical.
\u2013 24-26: Moderate knowledge and understanding of the subjects; good analytical and synthesis skills with arguments expressed rigorously but with language that is not always appropriate\/technical.
\u2013 27-29: Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the subjects; remarkable analytical and synthesis skills. Good autonomy of judgment. Topics expounded rigorously and with appropriate\/technical language.
30-30L: Excellent level of in-depth knowledge and understanding of the subjects. Excellent skills in analysis, synthesis, and independent judgment. Arguments are expressed in an original way and with appropriate technical language.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
